About Melissa.....

Melissa trained as an actress at the The Television Workshop for 9 years after being selected through an audition process. She has been in numerous television and theatre productions over the years. Her television credits include 'The Amazing Mrs Pritchard' (ITV), 'Sons and Lovers' (ITV), 'Peak Practice' (ITV), 'A Thing Called Love'(BBC), 'Doctors'(BBC), 'Woof' (Carlton).   She has also been cast in many theatre productions including 'Romeo And Juliet', 'Double Indemnity', 'The Midwich Cuckoos', 'Second From Last In The Sackrace', 'Dark Of The Moon', 'Evacuees' and most recently played the role of ‘Beatrice’ in the new Stephen Lowe play: ‘Glamour’ at the Nottingham Playhouse. She has also worked with The Theatre Writing Partnership helping to workshop and develop various new scripts. Melissa has worked with many talented actors/actresses during her career including Ben Barnes (Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia), Toby Kebbell (RocknRolla), Sarah Lancashire, Stephen Mackintosh, Joe Dempsie (Skins), Lou Hirsch (My Hero), Sacha Dhawan (The History Boys) plus many more. Melissa also recently co-produced a short film called 'Big Society' alongside Nick Scott and Jonathan Rhodes. Melissa has also directed various plays in the last 5 years including 'Fur Coat and no knickers' by Mike Harding, 'Burying your brother in the pavement' by Jack Thorne, 'Dracula' by Bram Stoker and 'The Riots' by Gillian Slovo.  Melissa is also on the board of a creative collective called 'The Actors Workshop' in Nottingham. Melissa has just completed work as the lead girl in 'Swagger Wars' which she also co-produced and has just finished filming as a newsreader reporting on murder in 'Jar of angels' which is the first film by renowned photographer Crash Taylor. Melissa has also acted in recent corporate videos for Western Power Distribution and Citizens Advice Bureau. Melissa has also recently finished work on a couple of music videos including playing the bride to be in 'Cardinal' by Rob Green. Most recently Melissa has acted in short films 'Keys' for British Film Institute, went back in time for 'The Regiment' and got spooked in the horror short 'Occupancy' which are currently in post- production. Melissa has also completed many voice-over projects over the years, one of the most recent being for Vision Bangladesh which can be viewed here-
